Sometimes something needs to get across town today, not in a few days. A signed contract, a set of spare keys, forgotten medication, a laptop left at the office or a small parcel that cannot wait for the post. Taxi Peninsula can carry it for you by taxi, going directly from pick-up to drop-off across the Mornington Peninsula, Frankston and further into Melbourne when needed.

What can we deliver?

Our parcel service is for items that fit comfortably in a sedan and can be carried safely by one person. Typical deliveries include:

  • Documents and contracts that need to arrive the same day
  • House, car or business keys
  • A small parcel, gift or online order going to a relative
  • Items left behind after a visit, such as a phone charger, glasses or a bag
  • Supplies for a business that has run short during the day

We cannot carry anything illegal, dangerous or hazardous, and we may decline items that are too large, fragile or valuable to transport safely by taxi. Food and medication are best discussed with us first so we can confirm whether the trip is suitable. If you are unsure whether something qualifies, ask before you book.

How does taxi delivery work?

The process is simple. Book the trip as you would a normal taxi, giving the pick-up address, the delivery address and a note explaining that it is a parcel only, with no passenger travelling. Include the names and phone numbers of the person handing the item over and the person receiving it, so the driver can call if needed. If the pick-up is from a business, mention which counter or office the item will be waiting at. The driver collects the item, goes directly to the destination and hands it over at the door.

Because the item travels in one vehicle from start to finish, there is no depot, no sorting and no change of hands along the way. That makes taxi delivery useful when timing matters, or when you would simply prefer that your item goes straight there.

Getting things ready for the driver

A little preparation helps the delivery go smoothly. Package the item securely in an envelope, bag or box, and label it clearly with the recipient’s name and address. If the item is going to a business, check that someone will be there to receive it, particularly late in the day or near closing time. For deliveries to a home, let the recipient know it is on the way. If nobody will be available, tell us beforehand so we can agree what should happen.

Please do not send cash or irreplaceable valuables. For anything of significant value, consider whether you or someone you trust should travel with it instead, which you can do by booking a normal taxi trip. The same applies to anything that needs careful handling, such as artwork or delicate equipment, where it is better to have the owner present for the journey.

Where and when

We run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so a delivery can be booked for early in the morning, during business hours or late at night. If timing matters, tell us the deadline when you book, for example a document that must reach an office before it closes, so we can plan the pick-up accordingly. Common runs include Frankston to Mornington, Hastings to Rosebud, or anywhere on the Peninsula to a business in south-east Melbourne. We can also deliver further afield in Melbourne on request.

Cost and booking

Deliveries are charged as a taxi trip from the pick-up to the delivery address. The online booking form shows a fare estimate before you confirm, and fixed quotes are available on request, which suits businesses that need the same delivery regularly. Local businesses such as real estate agents, accountants, pharmacies and trades sometimes use taxi delivery when a courier cannot get there in time, and households use it for urgent family errands. You can book a delivery online in about two minutes or by phone, and an SMS or email confirms the job.

What happens when I book?

  1. Direct same-day delivery, with no depot or sorting

  2. Driver hands the item over at the door

  3. Available 24/7 across the Peninsula and Frankston

  4. Fare estimate shown before you confirm

What else do people ask?

What sort of items can you deliver by taxi?

We deliver documents, keys, small parcels and everyday items that fit comfortably in a sedan and can be carried by one person. We cannot carry anything illegal, dangerous or hazardous, and we may decline items that are too large, fragile or valuable. If you are unsure, ask us before booking.

Does someone need to be there to receive the delivery?

Yes, ideally. Our driver hands the item over at the door, so let the recipient know it is coming and include their name and phone number in the booking. If nobody will be home or the business may be closed, tell us beforehand so we can agree what to do.

How is a parcel delivery priced?

A delivery is charged as a taxi trip from the pick-up address to the delivery address. The booking form shows a fare estimate before you confirm, so you know roughly what to expect. Businesses that send items regularly can ask for a fixed quote for a particular run.

Can you deliver outside the Peninsula?

Yes. Most of our deliveries are local, between towns on the Mornington Peninsula and Frankston, but we travel anywhere in Melbourne. A document can go from Mornington to an office in the city, or keys from Rosebud to a family member in the south-east suburbs. Book it the same way as a local trip.

Can I send something late at night?

Yes. We operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so deliveries can be booked outside business hours, such as keys for someone locked out or medication left behind after a visit. Make sure someone is available to receive the item at the other end, and add their contact details to the booking.
