Tips from our drivers for Royal Hotel Mornington
- Combine dinner with a walk down to Mornington harbour and Mothers Beach.
- On Wednesday market days Main Street is busy, so allow extra time.
- Book return trips ahead for birthday dinners and functions, especially on Friday and Saturday nights.
The Royal Hotel is one of Mornington’s historic hotels, standing on the Esplanade at the top of Main Street with views over the harbour and Port Phillip. It is a popular spot for celebrations, Friday drinks and long weekend lunches.
We bring diners in from Mount Martha, Mornington, Frankston and the hinterland and take them home when they are done, which means nobody in the group has to stay on lemonade. Visitors staying in the hotel book us for transfers to and from Melbourne Airport and Frankston station, and for day trips to wineries and the hot springs. Market days and summer weekends bring heavy traffic to the top of Main Street, and a taxi to the door means you arrive in time for your booking without circling for a park.
Our wheelchair accessible van and Maxi WAT carry passengers in their own chairs with four-point restraints, and carers travel along with them. MPTP cards and NDIS accounts are accepted. For larger family groups, the Maxi WAT seats up to eight. Friday and Saturday nights are our busiest times in Mornington.
