Tips from our drivers for Polperro
- Overnight guests can book a taxi for the next day’s cellar door visits.
- Port Phillip Estate and other Red Hill wineries are close by.
- Book return trips ahead on weekends.
Polperro is a winery on Red Hill Road with a cellar door, a bistro and vineyard accommodation. It produces wines from its own vineyards around Red Hill, and its relaxed dining room makes it a popular place for long weekend lunches.
We drive guests to Polperro for lunch, tastings and overnight stays. Since Red Hill Road is lined with other cellar doors, it is easy to visit two or three in a day while we take care of the driving. Guests staying in the villas often book us for transfers from Melbourne Airport or Frankston station. The villas suit couples on a weekend escape, and many guests ask us to collect them from Frankston station or the airport on arrival. Others come only for lunch and leave the car at home, which makes the bistro’s wine list much easier to enjoy.
Our sedans carry up to four passengers, and the Maxi WAT seats up to eight or carries two wheelchairs plus six passengers. All our wheelchair vehicles have four-point restraints and lap-sash seatbelts, and drivers help from the car to the door. MPTP cardholders are welcome on any of these trips.
