Tips from our drivers for The National Golf Club

  • Tell us how many golf bags you have so we send the right vehicle.
  • Book your return trip before your round.
  • The club has more than one course, so mention which one you are playing.

The National Golf Club is a private members’ club at Cape Schanck with several courses set among the dunes and coastal scrub of the southern peninsula. It is well regarded among golfers and hosts members, guests and tournaments.

Golfers book us to reach The National for rounds and events, especially when a post-game drink is on the cards. We also bring guests from nearby resorts and holiday homes, and run players to Melbourne Airport afterwards. Visiting players often come down from Melbourne for a day of golf, and many book us for the full return trip so they can enjoy a drink in the clubhouse. As it is a private members’ club, make sure your round is confirmed with the club before you book your taxi. We can also link your round with a stay at a nearby resort.

Our sedans suit small groups, and the Maxi WAT seats up to eight, with room for golf bags depending on numbers. For passengers using wheelchairs, the accessible van and Maxi WAT both have four-point restraints. Drivers help door to door.

Questions about taxis to The National Golf Club

Can you fit golf bags in your taxis?

Yes, depending on group size. Tell us how many passengers and golf bags you have when booking, and we will send a sedan or the Maxi WAT with enough room. For larger groups, we may suggest two vehicles. Tell us about any wheelchair users too.

Can you take us from The National to Melbourne Airport after our round?

Yes. Book your pick-up time based on your expected finish, and tell us your flight details. Allow plenty of time for traffic, and let us know about luggage and golf bags. A fixed quote is available on request for the long run to Tullamarine, and you will receive confirmation by SMS or email.

Where will you drop me off at The National Golf Club?

Drop-off and pick-up are at the clubhouse. Let us know your tee time and expected finish so we can meet you on time.

Can you wait or pick me up after my appointment at The National Golf Club?

Yes. Book a return trip with an approximate time, then call or text us when you are ready. Appointments often run late, so we keep return pick-ups flexible.

Is there step-free access at The National Golf Club?

We drop you at the clubhouse entrance; tell us which course you are playing so we head to the right clubhouse.

Can I travel in my power wheelchair or scooter?

Yes. Most manual and power wheelchairs fit, and you stay seated in your chair. Tell us the make, width and weight when you book so we send the right vehicle. Mobility scooters can travel when they can be safely restrained — please check with us first.

Can a carer or family member come too?

Yes. Carers, family and assistance animals are welcome. Include everyone in the passenger count so we send a vehicle with enough seats.

How do I pay?

Pay the driver by card or cash, use your Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP) card, or choose "Account / invoice" for NDIS plan managers, aged-care providers and businesses.
