Looking for events & day trips from Melbourne CBD? Taxi Peninsula picks up from any address in Melbourne CBD in a wheelchair accessible taxi with a ramp or hoist, four-point wheelchair restraints and a driver trained to help you in and out safely.
Getting out of the city towards the south-east usually means Kings Way and the Monash Freeway, or the West Gate Freeway and CityLink, then EastLink and Peninsula Link down to the Peninsula. Peak hours and major events can slow these routes considerably. Many CBD streets have tram lanes, clearways and loading zones where stopping is restricted, so we agree a legal pick-up point in advance, such as a side street, a hotel drop-off area or a hospital patient pick-up zone. Large events at Melbourne Park and the MCG create heavy traffic around Olympic Boulevard and Punt Road.

Mọi người còn hỏi gì nữa?
Can you pick us up after the game or concert?
Yes. Book a return trip and agree a meeting point near the venue when you book. Crowds and road closures can make stadium and arena pick-ups slow, so keep your phone switched on and let the driver know when you are leaving. If the event runs late, call us and we will adjust the pick-up.
Do you go to the races at Flemington and Caulfield?
Yes. We take passengers from the Peninsula and Frankston to Flemington and Caulfield, as well as to Mornington Racecourse and Cranbourne. Big race days bring heavy traffic and busy drop-off areas, so book well ahead and allow extra time. Groups can travel together in the Maxi.
Can a wheelchair user come to an event with friends?
Yes. Our wheelchair accessible van carries one wheelchair plus four seated passengers, and the Maxi WAT carries two wheelchairs plus six seated passengers. Both have four-point restraints and lap-sash seatbelts, so a wheelchair user can travel in the same vehicle as friends or family to the game, concert or show.
Can you plan a day trip around the Peninsula for us?
We can help you shape a simple day out, such as a drive along the bay to Sorrento, lunch in Red Hill and a stop at Arthurs Seat. Tell us what interests your group, any mobility needs and how long you want to be out, and we will suggest a plan and a suitable vehicle.
How do we book an event trip?
Use the online form, which takes about two minutes, or ring us with the event, the venue, the number of passengers and when you want collecting afterwards. An SMS or email confirms the booking. The booking form shows a fare estimate, and we can provide a fixed quote on request for planned outings.
Questions about events & day trips from melbourne cbd
How long does it take from Melbourne CBD to Sân bay Melbourne?
About 25 minutes without traffic. We add time for loading and securing your wheelchair, and for peak-hour traffic, when we plan your pick-up.
How much does it cost for events & day trips from Melbourne CBD?
Fares depend on distance, time of day and waiting time. The booking form shows an estimate, or ask us for a fixed quote.
Can you pick me up from my home, a hospital or an aged-care home in Melbourne CBD?
Yes. We pick up from any address — homes, hospitals, clinics, aged-care homes and day programs — and help you from the door to the vehicle.
Can you pick me up from a Parkville hospital and take me home to the Peninsula?
Yes. We regularly collect patients from the Royal Melbourne, Royal Women’s, Peter Mac and Royal Children’s hospitals for the trip back to Frankston and the Peninsula. Choose the pick up when ready option if your discharge time is uncertain, then tap I'm ready or call us. Tell us the hospital and your ward or department when booking.
Will you collect me after a game at the MCG or a concert at Rod Laver Arena?
We can. Book in advance and nominate a pick-up point away from the main crowds, since the roads right beside the venues are often closed or jammed after events. We will confirm the spot by SMS or email. A group can share the Maxi WAT, and it also suits fans travelling with wheelchairs.
I am arriving by V/Line or coach at Southern Cross. Can you meet me?
Yes. Southern Cross Station is a common pick-up for passengers heading to Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula. Give us your expected arrival time and we will agree a meeting point outside the station. If your service is delayed, call us and we will adjust. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available for passengers who travel in their chair.
