Bayside Shopping Centre is the main shopping centre in central Frankston, close to the train station and the foreshore. It has supermarkets, larger stores, specialty shops and food outlets, and is a regular stop for residents across Frankston and the northern Peninsula.
Many of our passengers use Bayside for their weekly shop, but getting home with heavy bags on the bus is hard work. Older shoppers, people with limited mobility and those without a car find a taxi home the easiest option. Some passengers combine a shopping trip with an appointment in central Frankston, a visit to the library or lunch near the foreshore, and need a ride home at the end of the day. Others have mobility aids or wheelchairs, which makes a crowded bus difficult. Having a driver help carry the bags from the centre to the kitchen bench makes the weekly shop much more manageable.
Taxi Peninsula picks up from Bayside and takes you straight home, with the driver helping load your shopping and carry it to your door. Use “pick up when ready” and call when you have finished, or book a set pick-up time. Wheelchair accessible taxis are available, and we accept MPTP cards, NDIS and aged-care accounts.

Yes. Our drivers help door to door, including loading your shopping at the centre and carrying it to your front door. Let us know when you book if you have a lot of bags or a shopping trolley, so we can send a suitable vehicle.
Can I use my MPTP card for a shopping trip?
Yes. If you hold a Multi Purpose Taxi Program card, show it to the driver and the subsidy will be applied to your fare. MPTP can be used for everyday trips like shopping, appointments and social outings, so a regular trip to Bayside for the weekly shop is a good use of it.
