Golf Links Road Rehabilitation Centre is a Peninsula Health facility in Frankston that provides rehabilitation and care for older people. It is one of the places patients may move to after an acute stay in hospital, to work on strength, mobility and independence before going home.
Patients and visitors come from Frankston, Langwarrin, Carrum Downs, Seaford and across the Peninsula. Stays can last several weeks, so partners and family often make the trip many times, and patients may return for outpatient therapy once they are home. A good share of these passengers do not drive, and some are adjusting to a wheelchair or walking aid for the first time. Getting the vehicle right for that first trip home, with the chair or frame they have been practising with, helps patients settle back in with confidence.
Taxi Peninsula’s wheelchair accessible vans and Maxi WATs suit these trips well, with ramps or hoists, four-point wheelchair restraints and room for a carer. Sedans are there for visitors and patients who can manage a car seat. Our drivers help from the door of your home to the centre’s reception, and we accept MPTP cards, NDIS and aged-care accounts.

Can you take my husband home from rehab in his wheelchair?
Yes. Book a wheelchair accessible van, which has a rear ramp and room for one wheelchair plus four seated passengers, so you can ride together. If his chair is a heavy power chair, choose the Maxi WAT, which uses a hydraulic hoist. Add any details about the chair in the booking notes.
Can I use my MPTP card for rehab trips?
Yes. If you hold a Multi Purpose Taxi Program card, show it to the driver and the subsidy is applied to your fare. MPTP can be used for trips in our sedans and our wheelchair accessible vehicles, including regular trips to therapy and visiting a family member at the centre.
