Kingston Centre in Cheltenham is a Monash Health facility focused on care for older people. It provides rehabilitation, geriatric medicine, aged-care services and related outpatient programs, helping people recover after illness or surgery and plan for life back at home or in care.
Many Kingston Centre patients have come from an acute hospital, and stays can last weeks. Their partners are often older too, and may no longer drive, which makes regular visits from Frankston or the Peninsula difficult. Patients attending outpatient programs also need a dependable way to get there and home. Families can also find the site itself a little confusing on the first visit, with different programs located in different buildings. A driver who drops you at the right door and waits while you get your bearings can make the first few visits much easier for an older partner travelling alone.
Taxi Peninsula is well suited to these trips. Our wheelchair accessible vans and Maxi WATs carry passengers in their chairs with four-point restraints, and our sedans suit visitors who can manage a car seat. Drivers are patient and help door to door, and we accept MPTP cards as well as NDIS and aged-care accounts.

If the care team is happy for her to have an outing, yes. Book a wheelchair accessible van so she can stay in her chair, secured with four-point restraints and a lap-sash seatbelt. You can travel with her, and we can bring her back at a set time or when you call.
