Tips from our drivers for Merricks Estate
- Check the cellar door’s opening days before booking, as smaller wineries may open on limited days.
- Stonier is close by in Merricks.
- Book return trips ahead in rural Merricks.
Merricks Estate is a family-owned winery in Merricks, among the vineyards that run down towards Western Port. It is a smaller producer with a cellar door where visitors can taste the estate’s wines in a quiet country setting.
People book us to visit Merricks Estate as part of a tour of the quieter eastern side of the peninsula, often alongside Stonier and Pt. Leo Estate. Because the area is rural and roads between wineries are long and winding, a taxi lets everyone taste without having to drive. The wineries around Merricks are fewer and further apart than in Red Hill, so planning the route matters. Tell us which cellar doors you want to visit, check their opening days, and we will build the day around them. A smaller winery often means an unhurried tasting and time to talk about the wines.
Our sedans suit couples and small groups, and the Maxi WAT seats up to eight. Passengers in wheelchairs can travel in our accessible van or Maxi WAT, which are fitted with four-point restraints and air-conditioning. Drivers help you from the car to the cellar door.

Questions about taxis to Merricks Estate
Is Merricks Estate open every day?
Smaller wineries often open on limited days, and we do not keep track of cellar door hours. Please check with Merricks Estate directly before booking your taxi, then choose drop-off and pick-up times that fit. If you plan to visit several wineries, check each one’s hours so the day fits together.
Can you take us to Merricks Estate and Stonier on the same day?
Yes. Both are in Merricks, so the trip between them is short. Let us know your plans, and we will book each leg so you can move easily between cellar doors. If you would like to add Pt. Leo Estate for lunch, we can include that leg too, and collect you at the end of the day.
Where will you drop me off at Merricks Estate?
We set you down and collect you right outside the tasting room. Tell us if the winery has suggested a different meeting point.
Can you wait or pick me up after my appointment at Merricks Estate?
Yes. Book a return trip with an approximate time, then call or text us when you are ready. Appointments often run late, so we keep return pick-ups flexible.
Is there step-free access at Merricks Estate?
We follow the driveway in and stop beside the cellar door.
Can I travel in my power wheelchair or scooter?
Yes. Most manual and power wheelchairs fit, and you stay seated in your chair. Tell us the make, width and weight when you book so we send the right vehicle. Mobility scooters can travel when they can be safely restrained — please check with us first.
Can a carer or family member come too?
Yes. Carers, family and assistance animals are welcome. Include everyone in the passenger count so we send a vehicle with enough seats.
How do I pay?
Pay the driver by card or cash, use your Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP) card, or choose "Account / invoice" for NDIS plan managers, aged-care providers and businesses.
