The Portsea Hotel is a historic pub on Point Nepean Road with a big lawn running down towards the bay. It is famous on the peninsula for summer afternoons, and it also offers dining and accommodation. Being near the very end of the peninsula, it draws crowds from Sorrento, Rye and well beyond.
Our taxis are a common sight outside on warm weekends. We run groups from holiday houses in Blairgowrie, Rye and Rosebud, bring them home once the sun goes down, and take overnight guests to and from Melbourne Airport. It is also a handy stop after a day at Point Nepean National Park. Visitors crossing on the ferry from Queenscliff to Sorrento can also book us for the short run on to Portsea.
We have sedans for couples and small groups, plus a wheelchair accessible van and a Maxi WAT for passengers who use wheelchairs or need extra room. The Maxi WAT seats six plus two wheelchairs, which suits family gatherings. On the busiest summer days, demand is high right along the southern peninsula, so booking ahead matters.
