Rosebud Hospital is a public hospital run by Peninsula Health and the main hospital for the southern Mornington Peninsula. It has an emergency department and provides care for residents of towns such as Rosebud, Rye, Dromana, McCrae, Capel Sound, Tootgarook, Blairgowrie and Sorrento, along with the many holiday visitors who stay on this stretch of coast.
For people living at the southern end of the Peninsula, Rosebud is often the first stop for urgent care, outpatient appointments and procedures, with more specialised treatment sometimes arranged at Frankston. Public transport along the coast can be slow and infrequent, and many older residents no longer drive, so a reliable taxi makes a real difference.
