The Alfred is a major public teaching hospital in Melbourne, run by Alfred Health. It is home to one of Victoria’s major trauma centres and the statewide adult burns service, along with heart and lung transplant services and a broad range of other specialties.
Peninsula residents are often taken to The Alfred after a serious accident, or referred for specialist care. Family members may need to visit for weeks, and patients may return regularly for follow-up clinics after going home. The drive up the Nepean Highway and into the city, with limited parking at the end, is draining when you are already worried about a loved one. Patients transferred to Caulfield Hospital for rehabilitation, or discharged home with ongoing care, often need several trips back for clinics and reviews.
Taxi Peninsula takes you directly from home to The Alfred’s entrance. Choose a sedan, a wheelchair accessible van or a Maxi WAT, travel with a carer, and book a return at a set time or when you are ready. Fixed quotes are available on request, and NDIS and aged-care accounts and MPTP cards are accepted.

Yes. We run 24 hours, so we can bring family members up from the Peninsula day or night, though booking ahead is recommended when possible. Several people can travel together, and our Maxi WAT seats up to six plus two wheelchairs if you need a larger vehicle.
Can I book regular trips for follow-up clinics at The Alfred?
Yes. Book each appointment online, or call us to set up several bookings at once. Add the clinic name to the notes so the driver drops you at the right entrance. For the trip home, “pick up when ready” helps when clinic times run over.
