Tips from our drivers for Yabby Lake Vineyard

  • Pair with Moorooduc Estate nearby for a northern peninsula wine day.
  • Book returns ahead on weekends.
  • Yabby Lake is close to Mornington, making it a short trip from town.

Yabby Lake Vineyard is a winery on Tuerong Road at Tuerong, in the northern part of the peninsula’s wine country. It is known for its pinot noir, chardonnay and syrah, and its cellar door and restaurant look out across the vines and the lake that gives it its name.

It is a short drive from Mornington and Mount Martha, so locals book us for lunches, birthdays and tastings. Visitors staying in Frankston or Melbourne often combine Yabby Lake with Moorooduc Estate or Crittenden Estate on a day that stays north of the hinterland. Its position on the northern side of the wine region makes it a natural first stop for visitors coming down from Melbourne. If you are staying in the city or in Frankston, we can collect you in the morning, take you to two or three cellar doors, and bring you home after lunch.

Our wheelchair accessible van carries one chair and four seated passengers, while the Maxi WAT carries two chairs and six seated. All wheelchair vehicles have four-point restraints and lap-sash seatbelts, and drivers help from door to door. Book ahead for spring and summer weekends.

Can you take a group of friends to Yabby Lake for lunch?

Yes. Up to eight can ride together in the Maxi WAT, or we can send a pair of sedans. Book your table with the winery, then book us for a drop-off just before your reservation and a return time after lunch. Weekends are busy, so reserve both early.

Can I travel in my power wheelchair or scooter?

Yes. Most manual and power wheelchairs fit, and you stay seated in your chair. Tell us the make, width and weight when you book so we send the right vehicle. Mobility scooters can travel when they can be safely restrained — please check with us first.
