Where the peninsula meets Bass Strait, Cape Schanck combines a small residential community with a golf resort, a historic lighthouse and some of the most dramatic coastline in Victoria. Taxi Peninsula serves it around the clock. Choose a sedan for golf days and airport runs, or a wheelchair accessible van or Maxi WAT for passengers who need to travel seated in their wheelchair.
The RACV Cape Schanck Resort and The National Golf Club bring a steady flow of golfers and guests, while walkers come for the Cape Schanck Lighthouse, Bushrangers Bay and the southern end of the Two Bays Walking Track from Dromana. Homes are spread through bushy estates near the resort and along the coast. Residents travel inland to Rosebud for shopping and Rosebud Hospital, to Frankston for larger appointments, and up the freeway to Melbourne Airport and the city.
Because Cape Schanck is a fair way from the bay towns, booking ahead is the best way to make sure a car is waiting, especially for early flights or a set finish time after a walk or a round. We accept MPTP cards and NDIS and aged-care accounts, and carers can travel with the passenger at no extra fuss. Resort guests arriving from Melbourne Airport can add a flight number so we track the arrival. Golfers should mention their bags when booking, and walkers finishing at the lighthouse can choose “pick up when ready”, then tap “I’m ready” once they’re back at the car park.

What should I know about getting around Cape Schanck?
Boneo Road and Cape Schanck’s other approach roads cross open farmland before reaching the coast, and the area feels remote at night with little street lighting. Within the residential estates, streets wind through tea-tree and coastal scrub, so give us a house description or nearby corner. Car parks for the lighthouse and Bushrangers Bay are separate, so be clear about where you’ll be waiting after a walk. Mobile coverage can drop out along parts of the coastline, so agree on a pick-up time or call us before you set off. Summer weekends and holidays bring extra traffic, but it’s rarely congested.

Questions about travelling in Cape Schanck
Can you pick up walkers at the end of the Two Bays Walking Track?
Yes. Many walkers finish at Cape Schanck and want a lift back to Dromana or their accommodation. Tell us which car park you’ll be waiting at and roughly when you expect to arrive. Because phone reception can be unreliable on the coast, it’s best to call us before you lose signal or set a firm pick-up time.
We’re staying at the resort. Can you bring us from Melbourne Airport?
Yes. Add your flight number when booking and we’ll track the flight, adjusting the pick-up if it lands early or late. The driver will take you straight to the resort entrance. We can also book your departure trip at the same time, so both ends of your stay are sorted.
Can you take a group of golfers with clubs to The National?
Yes. Let us know how many players and golf bags there are, and we’ll suggest the right vehicle. A larger group may suit the Maxi WAT, depending on the bags. We’ll drop you at the clubhouse and can collect you after the round, either at a set time or when you call.
Can I travel in my power wheelchair or scooter?
Yes. Most manual and power wheelchairs fit, and you stay seated in your chair. Tell us the make, width and weight when you book so we send the right vehicle. Mobility scooters can travel when they can be safely restrained — please check with us first.
Can a carer or family member come too?
Yes. Carers, family and assistance animals are welcome. Include everyone in the passenger count so we send a vehicle with enough seats.
How do I pay?
Pay the driver by card or cash, use your Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP) card, or choose "Account / invoice" for NDIS plan managers, aged-care providers and businesses.
