In short

Taxi Peninsula provides wheelchair accessible taxis in Langwarrin since 2016, using ramp and hoist vans with wheelchair restraints and drivers who help you from door to door. We travel anywhere across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, including hospitals, day programs and Melbourne and Avalon airports, and carers travel with you. Book online in about two minutes or call 0468 323 211. Fares depend on distance and waiting time; MPTP, NDIS and aged-care accounts are accepted.

Langwarrin is a big, spread-out suburb east of Frankston, and plenty of its households do not have a car for every trip. Taxi Peninsula fills that gap around the clock with sedans for regular rides and wheelchair accessible taxis for passengers using manual or power chairs. Many of our Langwarrin passengers are older residents and NDIS participants travelling to therapy, day programs and appointments, as well as commuters who simply want a reliable ride to the train.

Much of Langwarrin is family housing and bush-edged acreage, crossed by Cranbourne-Frankston Road, McClelland Drive and Peninsula Link, with Langwarrin South stretching towards Baxter and Pearcedale. There is no train station in the suburb, so a taxi to Frankston station is a common start to a trip into the city. Locals also travel to Frankston Hospital, Bayside Shopping Centre, Monash University’s Peninsula campus, and shopping and medical centres in Cranbourne. McClelland Sculpture Park and Gallery on McClelland Drive brings visitors into Langwarrin too, and the Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve is a local landmark for walkers.

For early flights or appointments with a fixed start time, booking ahead is the surest way to have a car ready at your door. Families and small groups can travel together in the Maxi WAT, which seats six with room for two wheelchairs. We accept MPTP cards and NDIS and aged-care accounts, and carers accompany the passenger. Drivers help from door to door, which matters for older residents on sloping or bush blocks.

What should I know about getting around Langwarrin?

Cranbourne-Frankston Road is the main east-west route and is busy at peak times, particularly near the Peninsula Link interchange and approaching Frankston. Peninsula Link connects quickly north to EastLink and south towards the Peninsula. Langwarrin has no train line of its own; Frankston station on the Frankston line is the usual rail connection. Some Langwarrin South properties are on acreage with gates or unsealed driveways, so add directions to your booking. School zones slow traffic on weekday mornings and afternoons. Allow extra time on weekend afternoons, when traffic builds around shopping centres in Frankston and Cranbourne.

What trips can I book from Langwarrin?

Questions about travelling in Langwarrin

Can you take me from Langwarrin to McClelland Sculpture Park and Gallery?

Yes. McClelland is on McClelland Drive in Langwarrin and we can take you there and back from home or from Frankston station. We drop you at the gallery entrance area. Let us know if you need a wheelchair accessible vehicle, and consider booking your return trip with the pick up when ready option so you are not rushed.

I live in Langwarrin South on acreage. Do you service those areas?

We do. Langwarrin South properties can be well off the road, so please describe your gate, driveway and any turning area in the booking notes. If the driver should wait at the front gate instead, say so. For wheelchair passengers, mention where the ground is most level so the ramp or hoist can be set up safely.

Do you travel from Langwarrin to Cranbourne for appointments?

Yes. Many Langwarrin residents see doctors, specialists and services in Cranbourne as well as Frankston. Give us the clinic name and address when booking, along with your appointment time, and we will plan the pick-up to suit. A return trip can be booked at a set time or left open with the pick up when ready option.

Can I travel in my power wheelchair or scooter?

Yes. Most manual and power wheelchairs fit, and you stay seated in your chair. Tell us the make, width and weight when you book so we send the right vehicle. Mobility scooters can travel when they can be safely restrained — please check with us first.

Can a carer or family member come too?

Yes. Carers, family and assistance animals are welcome. Include everyone in the passenger count so we send a vehicle with enough seats.

How do I pay?

Pay the driver by card or cash, use your Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP) card, or choose "Account / invoice" for NDIS plan managers, aged-care providers and businesses.
