For Baxter residents, Taxi Peninsula is a local service rather than a city fleet that occasionally wanders this far south. We take bookings day and night, every day of the year, and we can send a sedan for an ordinary trip or a wheelchair accessible taxi with a ramp or hoist when that is what the passenger needs.
Baxter is a semi-rural community just south-east of Frankston, where Frankston-Flinders Road, Baxter-Tooradin Road and the Moorooduc Highway meet and Peninsula Link runs close by. Baxter station is on the Stony Point line, but trains run less often than on the metropolitan network, so a taxi to Frankston station is a popular choice for commuters and anyone with luggage. People here also travel regularly to Frankston Hospital, Bayside Shopping Centre, Monash University’s Peninsula campus and schools in the area, and out to Melbourne Airport or Avalon Airport for flights. Is it quicker to take a taxi to Frankston station than the Stony Point train from Baxter?
It often is, because Stony Point line services are less frequent than metropolitan trains and you still need to change at Frankston. A taxi takes you straight to the Frankston station forecourt to meet the train you want. For regular commutes, a recurring booking means you do not have to call each morning.
Can you collect my child from school in the Baxter area?
We can carry school-age passengers when a parent or guardian makes the booking and gives clear pick-up details, including the gate or meeting point. Let us know if a wheelchair accessible vehicle is needed. School finishing times are busy around Baxter, so booking ahead gives the driver the best chance of arriving right on time.
Do you go from Baxter to Avalon Airport as well as Tullamarine?
