Merricks North is farm and vineyard country, rolling hills between Red Hill, Balnarring and Moorooduc where houses sit on acreage rather than suburban blocks. Taxi Peninsula serves residents and visitors here 24 hours a day. A sedan suits most trips, while our wheelchair accessible van and Maxi WAT have a ramp or hydraulic hoist for passengers who stay seated in their chair.
The area is largely rural, with cattle, horses, hobby farms and small vineyards spread along winding back roads. There are no shops to speak of, so residents travel to Balnarring for groceries, to Mornington for Main Street, The Bays Hospital and appointments, and to Red Hill for the village and market days. For hospital care, Frankston Hospital is the main destination, and Melbourne Airport trips head north via Peninsula Link.
Out here, a little planning goes a long way. Book early for flights, surgery or specialist visits, and give us clear directions to your property the first time you travel with us. MPTP cards and NDIS and aged-care accounts are accepted, and carers or family members can travel with the passenger. After a stay at Frankston Hospital or The Bays, the “pick up when ready” option lets you tap “I’m ready” or call when you’re discharged, so nobody waits around. Coming home from overseas? Add your flight number and we’ll track it. The Maxi WAT can carry a group, or two wheelchair users together.

Our road is unsealed. Can you still pick us up?
Yes, we pick up from gravel roads across the peninsula. Tell us the road name, property number and any landmarks, and mention if the surface is rough, steep or boggy after rain. If the driveway isn’t suitable for the car, we can agree on a nearby meeting point instead.
Can you take me to The Bays Hospital in Mornington?
Yes. We’ll drop you at the main entrance and help you inside if needed. If you don’t know when you’ll be discharged or finished, book the return as “pick up when ready” and tap “I’m ready” or call us when you’re done, and a car will be sent.
Can visitors staying on a farm stay in Merricks North get around without a car?
Yes. Visitors often book us for trips to Red Hill, wineries, the beaches at Balnarring or Point Leo, and back to Melbourne Airport. Make sure you have the farm’s full address and any gate details, and book return trips in advance, especially on summer weekends.
