Red Hill is the heart of the peninsula’s wine country, a hilltop village surrounded by cellar doors, restaurants, orchards and acreage. Taxi Peninsula serves locals and visitors here around the clock. Book a sedan for a lunch reservation or a trip to town, or a wheelchair accessible vehicle with a ramp or hoist and four-point restraints for passengers who travel in their chair.
The village has a small cluster of shops and cafes, and the Red Hill Recreation Reserve hosts the Red Hill Market and the annual agricultural show. Main roads such as Arthurs Seat Road, Red Hill Road and Shoreham Road wind over the ridge, linking dozens of wineries including Polperro and many smaller cellar doors. Residents travel down to Dromana and Rosebud for shopping and Rosebud Hospital, to Mornington or Frankston for larger appointments, and further afield to Melbourne Airport or the city.
Weekend and wedding bookings fill quickly, so plan your transport early, especially for evening returns. The Maxi WAT carries groups of friends with up to two wheelchair users. Can you take us to Red Hill Market and back?
Yes. Market days are busy, so book ahead and let us know if you’ll have bags or bulky purchases. We’ll drop you as close to the reserve as traffic allows and can collect you at a set time or when you call. Agree on a meeting point near the entrance, as the car park can be crowded.
Can you drive us between wineries so nobody has to drive?
Yes. Tell us which cellar doors you plan to visit and roughly when, and we’ll organise drop-offs and pick-ups. You can ask for a fixed quote ahead of time. Booking specific times for each leg is easiest, since mobile reception can drop in and out among the vineyards.
We have guests travelling to a Red Hill wedding. Can you help?
