Rosebud is the largest town on the southern Peninsula, and a lot of our bookings start or finish here. Taxi Peninsula runs around the clock in Rosebud, with sedans for everyday trips and wheelchair accessible taxis fitted with ramps or hoists for passengers who need them.
Rosebud Hospital, part of Peninsula Health, is on Point Nepean Road and is a frequent pick-up and drop-off point for appointments, emergency visits and discharges. Rosebud Plaza is the main shopping centre, and the strip along Point Nepean Road has banks, chemists and cafes facing the foreshore and Rosebud Pier. In summer the foreshore camping grounds fill with holidaymakers and the town becomes much busier. Residents also travel to Frankston Hospital for specialist care, to Mornington and Frankston for shopping and to Melbourne Airport. Boneo Road and Jetty Road connect the town to the Mornington Peninsula Freeway. Outside the holiday season Rosebud is a settled community with many retirees, which is why medical and shopping trips make up much of our weekday work.
After a stay at Rosebud Hospital, book with the pick up when ready option and tap I’m ready or call us when you are cleared to leave. For early flights or day procedures, book the night before. Our Maxi WAT carries six seated passengers and two wheelchairs. MPTP cards are accepted, and we work with NDIS and aged-care accounts; carers travel with the passenger. Drivers help from door to door.

What should I know about getting around Rosebud?
Point Nepean Road is the main street and gets heavily congested in the summer holidays, especially near the foreshore camping areas and the plaza. Boneo Road and Jetty Road lead up to the Mornington Peninsula Freeway, which is the faster way towards Frankston. There is no train line on the southern Peninsula. Rosebud Hospital sits right on Point Nepean Road, and patient pick-ups work best at the main entrance; let us know your department. Plaza car parks are busy on weekends. Off-season, traffic is much lighter, and most of our trips are local errands and medical appointments.

Questions about travelling in Rosebud
Can you take me home from Rosebud Hospital?
Yes. Rosebud Hospital is one of our most common pick-ups. Choose the pick up when ready option when booking and tap I'm ready or call when you are discharged. The driver will meet you at the entrance and can help with bags and walking aids, and a wheelchair accessible vehicle can be sent if you need one.
Do you service the Rosebud foreshore during the summer holidays?
We do, though summer traffic along Point Nepean Road is heavy, so book ahead for anything time-sensitive. Give us your camping ground and a clear meeting point, such as the entrance off the main road. Late-night trips home from dinner or the pub are popular, so a pre-booked return trip is a good idea.
How do I get from Rosebud to Frankston Hospital for a specialist appointment?
We take Rosebud residents to Frankston Hospital regularly, usually via the Mornington Peninsula Freeway and Peninsula Link. Book a pick-up time that leaves room for traffic and finding your clinic. For the return, a set time or the pick up when ready option both work, depending on how predictable your appointment is.
Can I travel in my power wheelchair or scooter?
Yes. Most manual and power wheelchairs fit, and you stay seated in your chair. Tell us the make, width and weight when you book so we send the right vehicle. Mobility scooters can travel when they can be safely restrained — please check with us first.
Can a carer or family member come too?
Yes. Carers, family and assistance animals are welcome. Include everyone in the passenger count so we send a vehicle with enough seats.
How do I pay?
Pay the driver by card or cash, use your Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP) card, or choose "Account / invoice" for NDIS plan managers, aged-care providers and businesses.
