Somerville is a growing town on the eastern side of the Peninsula, with new estates spreading out from an established centre, and Taxi Peninsula serves it around the clock. You can book a sedan for ordinary journeys or a wheelchair accessible taxi with a ramp or hydraulic hoist. Young families, older residents in established streets and commuters heading for the train all use us, and we are glad to set up regular bookings for appointments and therapy.
The town centre is along Eramosa Road, with supermarkets, cafes and local services, and Frankston-Flinders Road runs through on its way between Baxter and Tyabb. Somerville station is on the Stony Point line, and Somerville Secondary College and several primary schools make school times busy. Locals travel to Frankston Hospital, Frankston station for metropolitan trains, Bayside Shopping Centre, Mornington for shops and The Bays Hospital, and Melbourne Airport. The town is surrounded by orchards, nurseries and small farms, so some addresses are well out of the centre.
Book the night before if you have an early flight or a set appointment time. The Maxi WAT seats six with two wheelchair positions, ideal for family groups or heavier power chairs. We accept MPTP cards, along with NDIS and aged-care accounts, and carers travel with the passenger. Drivers help from the door to the vehicle, including with walking frames and shopping bags, and you will receive confirmation by SMS or email.
