Boneo is open country: paddocks, horse properties, market gardens and homes set well back from the road on the plains south of Rosebud. Boneo Road is the main route through the area, running from Rosebud towards Cape Schanck and the ocean coast, with Browns Road among the roads crossing it. There’s no real town centre, so residents head to Rosebud for groceries, the pharmacy and Rosebud Hospital, and to Frankston for the hospital, larger shops and trains. Peninsula Hot Springs and the golf courses of Fingal and Cape Schanck are close by, so visitors staying in Boneo often book us to get there and back.

Because Boneo addresses can be hard to find, especially after dark, tell us about long driveways, gates and landmarks when you book. Early flights and morning specialist appointments are best arranged the night before. We take MPTP cards and NDIS and aged-care accounts, and a carer or family member is welcome to come along. For hospital visits, our “pick up when ready” option means you don’t have to guess how long a Rosebud Hospital or Frankston Hospital appointment will run. Larger households, or visitors travelling with a wheelchair user, can ride together in the Maxi WAT, whose hydraulic hoist suits heavier power chairs.

Out here, distances feel longer than in town, and there are few streetlights once you leave Boneo Road. Many properties sit at the end of long gravel driveways or behind farm gates, and some side roads are unsealed, so please give us clear directions, mention gate codes, and tell us whether the driver should come to the house or wait at the road. Mobile reception can be patchy in some pockets, so a landline or alternative number is useful. Traffic is usually light, but Boneo Road gets busier in summer with people heading to the back beaches and the hot springs. Public transport doesn’t really reach most of Boneo.
