Capel Sound (the area many people still call Rosebud West) sits on the bay between Rosebud and Tootgarook, and Taxi Peninsula covers it at any hour of the day or night. We send a sedan for quick runs to the shops or a friend’s place, and a wheelchair accessible van or Maxi WAT when a passenger needs to stay seated in their chair. Booking online takes about two minutes, and you’ll get a confirmation by SMS or email.
Most of Capel Sound is quiet residential streets running back from Point Nepean Road, with the foreshore reserve on the bay side filling up with campers and day-trippers every summer. For everyday errands, locals tend to head east into Rosebud for the supermarkets, Rosebud Plaza and the many medical clinics, while Rosebud Hospital is only a short ride away. Specialist appointments often mean Frankston Hospital, and the nearby Mornington Peninsula Freeway makes Capel Sound a straightforward starting point for Melbourne Airport, the city or Southern Cross Station.
If you have an early flight or a morning appointment, book the night before so the trip is locked in. Families heading out together, or a group with a wheelchair user and a few friends, can ask for the Maxi WAT. We accept MPTP cards and NDIS and aged-care accounts, and carers travel with the passenger, so mention them when you book and we’ll make sure everyone fits.

If you’re being collected from the foreshore, tell us which section or the nearest beach access point, and the driver will meet you there rather than searching along the reserve.

Is Capel Sound the same place as Rosebud West?
Yes, Capel Sound is the area that many locals and longtime visitors still call Rosebud West. You can use either name when you book. What matters most is the street address and, if possible, the nearest cross street, so the driver can come straight to your door without circling the backstreets off Point Nepean Road.
Can you take me to Rosebud Hospital and bring me home afterwards?
Yes. We’ll drop you at the hospital and, if you don’t know when you’ll be finished, choose the “pick up when ready” option. When you’re done, tap “I’m ready” or call us and a car will be on its way. This works well for day procedures, outpatient clinics and discharges where the timing is hard to predict.
Can you collect me from the foreshore camping area in summer?
Yes, we pick up campers along the Capel Sound foreshore. The reserve is long and gets very busy over the holidays, so tell us the camp section or the nearest beach access point off Point Nepean Road. Waiting near the road with your bags ready helps the driver find you quickly when traffic is heavy.
