Pearcedale is a semi-rural town on the eastern side of the Peninsula, close to Western Port, where distances are long and buses few. Taxi Peninsula covers Pearcedale 24 hours a day, sending a sedan for routine trips or a wheelchair accessible taxi when a passenger needs to travel in their chair. Many trips here are for medical appointments, shopping and getting to the train, because few residents live within walking distance of a bus.
The township is small, with a local shopping strip and a community feel, surrounded by hobby farms, horse properties and bushland. Baxter-Tooradin Road is the key route, linking Pearcedale to Baxter and Frankston in one direction and towards Tooradin and the South Gippsland Highway in the other. Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, a popular wildlife park, is on Tyabb Road in Pearcedale, and we often carry families and visitors there. Since Pearcedale has no train station and taxis are rarely passing, plan ahead: book early flights and medical appointments the day before. Can you take our family from Pearcedale to Moonlit Sanctuary?
Yes, Moonlit Sanctuary is on Tyabb Road in Pearcedale and we take locals and visitors there regularly, including guests staying elsewhere on the Peninsula. A family or small group can travel together in the Maxi WAT. If you are going to an evening session, book your return trip ahead so a car is ready when you finish.
What is the nearest train station to Pearcedale?
Pearcedale has no station of its own. The closest stops are Baxter and Somerville on the Stony Point line, while Frankston station gives direct access to the metropolitan Frankston line. Many residents take a taxi straight to Frankston to avoid changing trains. We can book a regular commute run if you travel on the same days each week.
I have horses and gates at my Pearcedale property. How should I set up a booking?
